Author of synergistic biopsychosocial-spiritual methodology and the founder of prenosological mental medicine; developer of the concept and mechanisms of development, systematics and prevention of mental and asocial epidemics; substantiated the attribution of extremism and terrorism to contagious polymorphic addictive disorders, highlighting a special form of mental terrorism (mercantile and destructive manipulation of consciousness) as a non-lethal cognitive weapon of mass destruction; proposed the concept of mental immunity as a biopsychosocial-spiritual matrix of identity and interface of consciousness; showed the fundamental possibility of interpreting all psychopathology as dysfunctions of mental immunity; singled out animogenetic (spiritual-moral) diagnostics and propaedeutics, therapy and rehabilitation; developed and implemented a synergistic technological platform for mental health service and systemic monitoring of public consciousness.

Author and co-author of 400 journal articles, more than 60 books and monographs, 30 university manuals and textbooks, 31 invention patents.

45 candidate and 38 doctoral dissertations were defended under his supervision.

The main scientific interests are in the field of clinical psychology and mental medicine, mental ecology and national security.
